Spin It Wide
Stakeholders involved SPIN IT WIDE
The SPIN IT WIDE campaign is now in full swing following the southern regions’ successful combined bid for Rugby World Cup 2011 attracting five games to the south during the Tournament.
SPIN IT WIDE encompasses the City and District Councils, Regional Tourism Organisations, and Rugby Unions “from the Waitaki south” - working together creating a fantastic platform for what will be an incredible event.
Plans are underway for a full calendar of events to keep visitors and locals entertained in between matches during the Tournament. With the region famous for its “southern hospitality” the locals are looking forward to showing off all that is on offer. From cycling the Otago Rail Trail to discovering the remote beauty of Stewart Island, there is so much to experience in this diverse region.
With the first of the region’s matches on September 10, 2011, our Stadium of 4 million will be well represented in the South.
